Santana Minerals (NZE:SMI, ASX:SMI) identified a hyper-concentrated mineral zone at the Come-in-Time deposit within the Bendigo-Ophir gold project in New Zealand, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
Results from a resource definition diamond drill program yielded results of 11 meters at 9.5 grams per tonne of gold from 33 meters, 6 meters at 1.6g/t gold from 50 meters, and 3.2 meters at 10.9g/t gold from 65.8 meters, the filing said.
"This discovery highlights the potential for high-grade shoots within the broader mineralized systems across the entire project area," said Santana Chief Executive Officer Damian Spring.
The mining company is now planning to conduct infill drilling of the high-grade core at the Come-in-Time deposit in the coming weeks, as per the filing.
Santana Minerals' shares were down 3% in New Zealand and 2% in Australia.
