Dow Jones12-10

1429 ET - Holiday shopping season promotions came and went for mobile plans, but the intensity of competition may return again soon. Rogers, Bell and Telus have returned to C$65 for their entry plans, up from C$55 to C$60 during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping period, TD Cowen's Vince Valentini says. Discount providers Fido, Virgin and Koodo all moved up C$5 in price, with their 60-gigabyte plans now costing C$39, up from C$34 previously. Their 100 gigabyte plans now cost C$44 compared with C$39 previously. "The quick removal of BF promos is encouraging to see," Valentini says, but cautions that competition among carriers might heat up again during the post-Christmas boxing week period.
