Canadian National Railway has reached a tentative agreement with Canada's largest private-sector union.

The railroad said Monday that it had reached a tentative four-year collective agreement with Unifor, which represents about 3,300 Canadian National employees working in mechanical, clerical and intermodal functions.

Details of the deal won't be released until the agreement is ratified.

The union's current labor agreement expires on Dec. 31.
