Hong Kong's total gross value of construction works rose 4.8% year over year to HK$73.1 billion in the third quarter, according to data from the city's census and statistics department released Tuesday.
Net of the effects of price changes, the gross value of construction works by main contractors rose 3.8% year over year, the department said.
At private sector sites, the value of construction works slid 9.2% to HK$20.2 billion, while those at public sector sites surged about 30% to HK$30.4 billion.
The value of construction works by main contractors at areas other than construction sites, such as decoration, repair, and maintenance activities, fell 6.6% to HK$22.5 billion.
