Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google has launched the first version of its new artificial intelligence model called Gemini 2.0, according to a Google blog post Wednesday.
The Gemini 2.0 Flash model is now available worldwide for users to chat with, while developers can access an experimental version that includes features like text-to-speech and image creation, the company said.
Google plans to make the multimodal version widely available in January and offer more variants of Gemini 2.0 model, while integrating Gemini 2.0 into more Google products by early 2025, it added.
Google is also launching Project Mariner, a Chrome extension that can browse the web for users, developer assistant Jules, and a Gemini 2.0-based assistant that can support in playing video games better, according to the blog post.
The company's shares were up more than 4% in recent trading.
