MT Newswires Live12-12

STMicroelectronics (STM) said Wednesday it is introducing the first product from its collaboration with Qualcomm (QCOM) to support the development of next-generation Internet of Things applications.

The ST67W611M1 wireless module uses Qualcomm's QCC743 chip, which supports Wi-Fi6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Thread technologies, making it simple to connect with any STM32 microcontroller, the company said.

The module comes with security measures, such as hardware encryption accelerators and secure boot, achieving PSA Certified Level 1 protection to keep devices safe from threats, it added.

STMicroelectronics said that module samples are already available, while original equipment manufacturers will get the modules in Q1 and wider availability is expected by Q2.
