Akamai Technologies (AKAM) said Friday it completed the acquisition of some assets from Edgio, including client contracts related to content delivery and security, and non-exclusive license rights to patents.
Akamai said that last month, the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware approved its bid to buy the assets following Edgio's bankruptcy auction on Nov. 13, as part of the company's filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy relief.
The deal doesn't include the acquisition of Edgio personnel, technology, or assets related to its network, Akamai said.
