BWX Technologies (BWXT) said Thursday that its subsidiary, BWXT Canada, signed a memorandum of understanding to support new-build nuclear projects in Canada and globally, in collaboration with Westinghouse Electric.

Under the agreement, BWXT may manufacture components for Westinghouse's AP1000 and AP300 nuclear-power reactors, including steam generators, reactor vessels, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers, the company said.

Westinghouse Electric is majority-owned by Toronto-based Brookfield Renewable Partners (BEP, BEP-UN.TO), which holds a 51% stake, while uranium miner Cameco (CCJ, CCO.TO) owns the remaining portion.
