Image credit: CnEVPost)\nTesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has launched Actually Smart Summon (ASS) in China, after the feature became available in the US, Europe and the Middle East.\nThe US electric vehicle (EV) maker announced on Weibo today that Actually Smart Summon is available in China, allowing Tesla vehicles to autonomously drive to the driver.\nNotably, the feature is part of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) and Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) software, meaning it's not available to owners with the free Basic Autopilot (BAP) software.\n\n\nJoin us on \nTelegram\n or \nGoogle News\n\n\n\nIn China, the FSD costs RMB 64,000 yuan ($8,790) and the EAP costs RMB 32,000 yuan.\nTesla CEO Elon Musk proposed the Actually Smart Summon feature two years ago, which applies only to Tesla Vision and doesn't rely on any sensors like radar.\nIn September this year, Tesla finally launched Actually Smart Summon in the US and brought the feature to Europe and the Middle East last month.\nThe feature allows the owner to summon the vehicle from a parking space to a specific location nearby. In China, a large number of EV models from local carmakers already come with the smart summon features.\nIn announcing the availability of the Actually Smart Summon feature in China, Tesla said in its Weibo post that consumers who purchase a Tesla vehicle through a trade-in now can get 90 days of free EAP access.\nOn November 5, Tesla said Chinese customers who buy a Tesla vehicle through a trade-in before December 3 would have a chance to win a visit to Tesla's Shanghai factory.\nThe intelligence of Tesla vehicles, including smart driving and smart cockpit, is seen as relatively lagging behind when compared to local automakers.
