Hong Kong's Unemployment Rate Unchanged in September-October

Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.1% in the September-November period, unchanged from the August-October figure, data released by the Census and Statistics Department Tuesday said.

The underemployment rate also remained the same in the two periods at 1.1%.

Total employment increased by around 4,700 to 3,711,800 in September-November from 3,707,100 in the August-October period, with the labor force also rising to 3,831,500 from 3,827,900 previously.

The number of unemployed persons (not seasonally adjusted) fell to 119,700 in the three months from 120,700 in the previous period. Underemployed persons also decreased to 41,700 from 42,300.
