Champion Iron Resumes Ore Shipments After Facility Repairs at Canada Mine

MT Newswires Live12-19

Champion Iron (ASX:CIA) resumed iron ore shipments from its Bloom Lake mine in Quebec, Canada, following repairs to its train load-out facility, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The facility, used to transport iron ore to the port in Quebec, had been temporarily halted due to a machinery breakdown on Dec. 3, the filing said.

The company said that the repairs were completed Tuesday, and it is now working with third-party operators to gradually resume shipping.

While the interruption slightly affected sales, the repair costs were relatively negligible, the mining development company said.

The company has stockpiled ore for future shipment, the company added.

Shares of the company rose nearly 2% at market close.
