Stellantis (STLA) said Wednesday it has decided to launch the hybrid Ram 1500 Ramcharger ahead of the electric-only version due to "overwhelming" consumer interest, and slowing demand for all-electric trucks.
The company said Ramcharger is set open for consumer orders in H1 2025, while the electric Ram 1500 REV will be launched in 2026. Stellantis initially planned to launch the Ram 1500 REV in the first half of 2025, according to the statement.
Stellantis said its Sterling Heights assembly plant in Michigan will remain the primary production hub of its Ram 1500 vehicles.
