-- GFL Environmental is in exclusive talks to sell its environmental services business to assent manager Apollo Global Management 8 billion Canadian dollars ($5.54 billion), according to a report by The Globe and Mail.

-- Apollo became a contender to acquire the business after the Canadian waste management giant launched an auction for the unit earlier in the year, according to two unidentified sources.
