0805 GMT - New features rolled out by Tencent's messaging app WeChat are likely to boost the company's e-commerce sales, according to Guotai Junan Securities analysts in a commentary. WeChat users now can use the "Send a Gift" feature to send items purchased from "WeChat Shops" to friends, a function expected to drive higher user engagement and boost e-commerce sales, the analysts say, describing the function as convenient to use.
