The Geo Group said that its Chief Executive Brian Evans will leave the company on Dec. 31 after about a year in the role to pursue other opportunities and tapped David Donahue as his successor.
The private prison company on Monday said that Donahue, with more than four decades of experience in corrections and detention centers, will take over the top job on Jan. 1. He joined GEO as the Eastern region vice president in 2009.
Departing Evans had been promoted to CEO on Jan. 1, 2024 after more than 20 years at the company after Jose Gordo agreed to step down.
