The US International Trade Commission ruled Lenovo (HKG:0992)-made Motorola Mobility mobile phones violate 5G patents owned by Ericsson, according to an initial ruling by the commission released Tuesday.

Among the phones that violated the patents include Motorola's Moto G, Edge and Razr lines, according to a Reuters report filed the same day.

The initial ruling grants Ericsson an inital win in its international patent licensing dispute with Lenovo, Reuters said.

The ITC will release its full decision by April 2025, the report said.

Lenovo and Ericsson are also entangled in patent disputes in South America, the UK, and in North Carolina, the report said.

Shares in Lenovo climbed 3% in Hong Kong during Wednesday's trading.
