Stellantis (STLA) is expected to present a long-term production plan to the Italian government that includes assigning a new mass market model to an Italian factory, Reuters reported Tuesday citing sources familiar with the matter.
Sources said Stellantis could manufacture the new model at either its Pomigliano d'Arco plant near Naples or at the Cassino plant, south of Rome.
As part of the plan, the carmaker is planning to produce a larger number of hybrid models in Italy, according to the report.
Stellantis did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
