The Center for American Rights petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to challenge Paramount Global's (PARA) planned $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a filing.

Tencent Holdings' stake in Skydance has raised concerns of foreign influence on US media, according to the report.

Paramount did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
