Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and Anduril are in talks with a dozen competitors to form a consortium to compete for US government defense contracts, challenging traditional prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Boeing, the Financial Times reported
The consortium is expected to announce in January that it has reached agreements with a number of tech companies, the report said.
Companies in talks to join the consortium include SpaceX, OpenAI, Saronic, and Scale AI, the FT reported, citing unnamed sources.
"We are working together to provide a new generation of defense contractors," one person involved talks said, according to the FT.
The FT said Anduril, OpenAI and Scale AI declined to comment, while Palantir, SpaceX and Saronic did not respond to requests for comment.
