Nio (HKG:9866, SGX:NIO) rolled out a small electric car under its Firefly brand during an event in Guangzhou, China, the South China Morning Post reported Sunday.
The new vehicle, seen to compete with the Mini of BMW and the Smart of Mercedes-Benz, would be priced at 148,000 yuan, with deliveries set to begin in April, the report said, citing remarks by co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Wiliam Li.
Firefly models will be eligible for the company's battery swap technology, the report said.
