Singapore Shares Edge Higher, Tracking Wall Street Gains -- Market Talk

0118 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index edges 0.2% higher at 3760.28, tracking Wall Street gains overnight. Trading will likely be muted ahead of the early market close today and the Christmas break. Among the biggest advancers, Hongkong Land gains 1.1%, while Seatrium rises 1.0% after announcing a new contract with BP to work on a production unit at the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Sembcorp Industries is 0.9% higher. Meanwhile, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding falls 1.0%, Jardine Cycle & Carriage loses 0.95% and Thai Beverage is 0.9% lower. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
