AECOM (ACM) said Monday that Amtrak has chosen its joint venture with STV to provide project management services for the Sawtooth Bridges Replacement Project.

The project is a key part of the Gateway Program to address infrastructure needs and doubling passenger train capacity on the most congested 10-mile section of the Northeast Corridor, the company said.

The replacement will involve constructing three new bridges between Newark Penn Station and Secaucus Junction over a 1.9-mile stretch in Kearny, New Jersey.

The company said the AECOM-led team will use a multi-phased approach to manage planning, design coordination, and interactions with railroads, utilities, and other stakeholders.
