Financial stocks were leaning lower premarket Monday with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) declining by 0.5% recently.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 1.1% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.5% higher.
MetLife (MET) is closing in on a deal to purchase PineBridge's assets outside of China from Pacific Century Group, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. MetLife shares were unchanged pre-bell.
Camden National (CAC) shares were up 0.6% after the company said it has received all regulatory clearances to complete the merger with Northway Financial.
Arch Capital Group (ACGL) said it has renewed its share repurchase authorization of $1.0 billion, which may be effected from time to time in open market or privately negotiated transactions. Arch Capital Group shares were unchanged premarket.
