Updates with closing prices, comments
LONDON, Dec 23 (Reuters) - New York cocoa futures slipped slightly on Monday, falling further from last week's record high, while raw sugar prices extended their rebound from a recent three-month low.
COCOA
* New York cocoa CCc1 settled down $208, or 1.7%, to $11,746 a ton. The market climbed to a record high of $12,931 last week.
* Dealers said the market expects a slowdown in Ivory Coast port arrivals in early 2025, with recent dry weather leading some to downgrade their 2024/25 production outlook.
* Farmers in some of Ivory Coast's cocoa-growing regions are concerned about the impact of the strong Harmattan wind on the cocoa crop as it can dry the soil and harm cocoa pods.
* London cocoa LCCc1 settled down 120 pounds, or 1.3%, to 9,372 pounds per ton.
SUGAR
* Raw sugar SBc1 settled up 0.03 cent, or 0.2%, at 19.54 cents per lb.
* Dealers noted a larger than expected rise in bearish bets held by speculators in raw sugar futures on ICE U.S. in the week to Dec. 17, CFTC data shows.
* They added that bearish bets held by speculators had probably increased on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
* March white sugar LSUc1 settled up $1.80, or 0.4%, at $512.20 a ton.
* Sugarcane yields in India are declining due to last year's drought and this year's excessive rains, which could reduce the country's sugar production below consumption levels for the first time in eight years.
COFFEE
* Arabica coffee KCc1 settled up 2.25 cents, or 0.7%, at $3.2725 per lb.
* Dealers said the focus remained on the outlook for next year's crop in Brazil after drought this year, with a drop in production expected but no clear consensus on the extent of the decline.
* Robusta coffee LRCc2 settled up $6, or 0.1%, at $5,008 a ton.
