China Likely Hit 2024 Growth Target, Standard Chartered Says -- Market Talk

0226 GMT - Economists at Standard Chartered raise their forecast for China's economic growth in 2024 to 5.0% from 4.8%, expecting that the country likely reached its official growth goal for the year. Growth momentum continued in December, they say, citing recent upbeat data including surveys that gauge China's manufacturing and services activities. They also expect the Chinese economy to expand 5.3% from a year ago in the October-December period, compared with a previous 4.8% forecast. (singaporeeditors@dowjones.com)
