Market Chatter: BYD Confident in 2025 Target; Geely Sets Conservative Goal

BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) expressed confidence in its 2025 business performance as its 2024 sales increased 41%, The Standard reported Friday.

Sales by the Shenzhen, China-based EV giant reached about 4.3 million units in 2024, a two-year consecutive high, BYD said in a bourse filing on Jan. 1.

For December, NEV sales rose 51% to 514,800 units.

Geely Automobile (HKG:0175) is targeting sales of 2.7 million units in 2025, which Chief Executive Officer Gui Shengyue calls a "cautious" goal, the report said.

December sales by Geely rose 43% to 210,000 units, while full-year sales grew 32%, The Standard said.
