Tenable Holdings said its chairman and chief executive, Amit Yoran, has died.

Tenable said Yoran, who had been battling cancer and last month began a temporary medical leave of absence from his duties as CEO, died unexpectedly on Friday.

Yoran had been CEO of the Columbia, Md., developer of security software solutions since 2016.

Tenable said Steve Vintz, its chief financial officer, and Mark Thurmond, its chief operating officer, will continue as interim co-CEOs while the company conducts a search for a new chief executive, adding that it will consider internal and external candidates.

The company said Art Coviello, a board member since February 2018 and lead independent director since February 2022, will serve as chairman.
