Sector Update: Energy Stocks Rise Premarket Monday

Energy stocks rose premarket Monday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently advanced by 0.6%.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 10.3% higher.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.6% higher at $74.40 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.6% to $76.97 per barrel. Natural gas futures were up 5.5% at $3.112 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

DHT Holdings (DHT) shares were up almost 1% after the company said it has bought about 1.5 million of its shares at an average price of about $8.89 per share in December.

Talos Energy (TALO) said Joseph Mills has resigned as interim president and CEO to pursue other opportunities. Talos Energy shares were 0.2% higher premarket.
