ComfortDelGro May Post Sequential Rise in 4Q Earnings -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-08

0753 GMT - ComfortDelGro could post slight sequential growth in 4Q earnings, Maybank Securities analyst Eric Ong writes in a report. The transport conglomerate will book almost two months of profits from the acquisition of London-based premium taxi provider Addison Lee for the quarter that ended in December, Ong says. However, that's likely to be cancelled out by one-off transaction costs of around S$2 million, he adds. Excluding that, Maybank expects ComfortDelGro to post 4Q core profit after tax and minority interests of S$57 million, up 2% on quarter. Earnings should be supported by continued margin improvements for U.K. bus contract renewals, though but partly offset by lower bus operations revenue in Singapore. Maybank keeps a hold call on the stock with a S$1.60 target. Shares flat at S$1.45. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
