Flutter Entertainment's Lowered U.S. Guidance Reflects Increased Volatility -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-08 17:47

0946 GMT - Flutter Entertainment's U.S. guidance cut points to higher volatility, Goodbody analyst David Brohan writes in a note. The gambling and gaming company's higher-margin parlay products come with increased uncertainty, while sporting results are inherently unpredictable, he notes. "As outlined in the statement the [National Football League] season to date has had the most customer friendly results since the start of online sports betting," Brohan says. The parent company of FanDuel was hit by adverse results throughout the quarter, he adds. Shares closed Tuesday at $251.86. (najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
