This ban comes after the White House quadrupled tariffs on some Chinese EVs to over 100%.\nAutomakers have been trying to push the timelines out as long as possible, as the companies need time to adjust their supply chains to remove hardware and software from these systems.\n\n\n\n  A new Lincoln SUV getting some buzz. Volvo also makes the S90 sedan in China, as well as sister brand Polestar with the Polestar 2 EV sedan.\nNonetheless, the Alliance for Automotive Innovation (AAI) trade group, which represents a number of automakers, said the new rules and their timing are fair.\n“The auto industry communicated our support for a final rule that addresses the unacceptable risks associated with information and communications technology and services designed, developed, manufactured or supplied by foreign adversaries like China and Russia,” said John Bozzella, AAI president and CEO, in a statement. “We also communicated (and the rule recognizes this) that changing the world’s most complex supply chain can’t happen overnight.
