Silvercorp Metals Output Rises in 3Q -- Commodity Comment

Silvercorp Metals produced more precious and base metals in the third fiscal quarter at its operations in China as throughput increased, while zinc production fell.

On production:

Silver equivalent ounces rose to 2.1 million ounces, up from 1.8 million ounces in the third quarter of the prior year.

Silver production increased 16% to 1.95 million ounces.

Gold produced was 2,056 ounces, compared with the previous year's quarter when it produced 1,342.

The company mined 11% more ore at 383,543 metric tons in the period, and milled 16% more than a year earlier at 361,810 tons.

Lead output was 2% higher at 17.1 million pounds.

Zinc production fell 10% to 6.7 million pounds.
