0928 GMT - Read across from U.S. investment banks' results seems helpful for their European peers, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods says in a research note. J.P.Morgan, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs reported strong revenues and a modest rise in investment banking for 4Q. Fixed income, currencies, and commodities was the standout performer, with foreign exchange and credit highlighted, analysts write. "We believe Barclays and Deutsche Bank are the most likely beneficiaries here given the greater sensitivity to group earnings," they say. That said, outlooks, targets and share buybacks will be more important to sentiment on the day, they add, pointing to Societe Generale's and BNP Paribas's coming results. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
