** Shares of China United Network Communications 600050.SS rise 3.4% to 5.16 yuan, highest since Jan. 2

** Stock on course for fifth consecutive session of gains, with latest session set for best one-day pct gain since mid Nov

** The Chinese telecom group said its Unicom Cloud took lead in realizing in-depth multi-scenario integration with DeepSeek-R1 model

** Stock of the company's Hong Kong-listed unit China Unicom 0762.HK rise 3.4% to HK$7.39, highest since Jan. 2

** In China, the blue-chip CSI 300 Index .CSI300 gains 0.7% and the Shanghai Composite Index .SSEC adds 0.8%

** In Hong Kong, telecoms index .HSCIT and Hang Seng Index .HSI climbs 0.5% and 0.3% respectively
