Dongfeng Motor Group Posts Lower Sales, Production in January

Dongfeng Motor Group (HKG:0489) sold 116,790 vehicles in January, down 48.5% from 226,875 units in the year-ago period, according to a Monday Hong Kong Exchange filing.

Production volume in the reporting month stood at 112,577 units, down 49.7% from 223,654 units a year earlier.

The company produced 20,807 new energy vehicles during the month, down 32.9% from 30,987 units last year, and sold 20,431 units, also down 28.1% from 28,403 units a year ago.

Dongfeng Motor Corporation, the company's parent firm, saw total sales of about 143,335 units for the reporting month, marking a 47.7% year-on-year decrease.

Meanwhile, unit Dongfeng Automobile's (SHA:600006) sales for January decreased by 44.2% year on year to 8,408 units.
