Glencore's Shareholder Returns Miss Consensus Estimates -- Market Talk

Dow Jones02-19

0959 GMT - Glencore's 2024 shareholder returns were a little behind consensus expectations, Barclays's analysts wrote in a research note. The commodities giant said it would return $2.2 billion to shareholders. This compares with consensus estimates of around $2.33 billion, analysts say. However, Barclays had expected $1.4 billion. Glencore will face near-term headwinds given lower coal prices but the medium-term outlook is positive, they write. Shareholder returns should move higher over the medium term, they write. Shares fall 6.3% to 331.10 pence. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
