TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Dadan Kusdiana stated that the results of the Pertamina's Pertamax quality test will be announced this afternoon.
"It will be announced today, this afternoon," said Dadan when met at his office on Friday, February 28, 2025.
This test is part of the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of ESDM after the Minister of ESDM, Bahlil Lahadalia asked the team to directly go to the field to ensure the quality of the oil circulating in the community.
Previously, the ministerial team made direct inspection of the fuel filling locations and brought oil samples for testing.
"The minister asked for an evaluation on the field and inspection. The results were taken to Lemigas, and then tested. We will announce the result this afternoon," said Dadan.
The surprise inspection was also accompanied by Commission XII of House of Representatives (DPR) to a Pertamina gas station to ensure that there were no fuel adulteration practices.
Deputy Chair of Commission XII of DPR, Bambang Hariyadi, said that testing the quality of the oil is important to ensure that the products sold to the public meet the standards set by the Agency for Oil and Natural Gas (Lemigas).
"We want to ensure that RON 92 and RON 90 are in accordance with the provisions set by Lemigas," Bambang told reporters on location, Thursday, citing Antara.
The checks at the gas station tested the differences between RON 90 fuel (Pertalite) and RON 92 (Pertamax). With the oil test results to be announced this afternoon, the public awaits further transparency regarding the quality of oil circulating in the market.
Previously, a number of officials from PT Pertamina (Persero) were named suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the management of crude oil and refinery product by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).
The suspects came from the board of directors of Pertamina's subsidiaries as well as private parties who were allegedly involved from 2018 to 2023.
The Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of AGO, Abdul Qohar, said that the suspect, Director of Marketing Center and Commerce of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Maya Kusmaya, and VP Trading Operations of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Edward Corne, with the approval of Riva Siahaan as the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, purchased RON 90 or lower fuel at the price of RON 92.
"Then the suspect, Maya Kusmaya, instructed and/or approved Edward Corne to conduct blending of refinery products of RON 88 with RON 92 in order to produce RON 92," he said.
