1328 GMT - BASF's 2025 outlook is similar to last year and reflects low upstream margins, UBS analysts say in a note. Excluding the start-up costs for its China site, the midpoint of its Ebitda guidance would mean a 10% or more on-year increase, they say. The German chemical giant estimates double-digit Ebitda growth for its Surface Technology segment in 2025, which is surprising given its high exposure to a weakened automotive sector, the analysts add. Its 4Q results showed a weak performance of its core segments, significantly below market expectations except for its Nutrition & Care business, they say. Shares are up 0.9% at 49.21 euros.
