Ryu Young-sang, the CEO of South Korean wireless telecommunications operator SK Telecom (KRX:017670), disclosed plans to build a hyperscale AI data center in partnership with global tech firms, The Korea Herald reported Monday.
Ryu unveiled the plans at the Mobile World Congress 2025, which is currently taking place in Barcelona, the report said.
The facility will house 60,000 graphics processing units with a 100-megawatt power capacity, with plans to expand to up to two gigawatts. Once completed, it will be South Korea's largest AI data center, surpassing the government's planned National AI Computing Center, according to the report.
