Ameris Bank Contributes $2 Million to Florida ‘Live Local’ Program

Business Wire03-05

ATLANTA, March 05, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ameris Bank is contributing $2 million to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation for the Live Local Program which provides low-interest loans for the development of quality affordable housing in the state.

"The need for affordable housing is great, and Ameris is pleased to participate in the Live Local Program to benefit workers who want to live close to their jobs, as well as elders and low-income families who are facing particular strain from the tight housing supply," said Ameris Bank CEO Palmer Proctor.

The State Apartment Incentive Loan Program (SAIL) administers the program, which allows taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar credit against the Florida corporate income tax or Florida insurance premium tax.

"Together with other companies, we can make a significant difference in the lives of many Floridians by encouraging more affordable housing developments with this program," Proctor said.
