1405 ET - The Whitecap Resources and Veren merger will introduce a number of cost savings. Analyst Luke Davis of Raymond James says in a report that management has outlined corporate, operating and capital synergies in the ballpark of C$35million to C$$100 million which are expected to be phased in within the first year of operations. "Beyond this, we expect an additional slew of savings to come through infrastructure optimization," the analyst says, which should ensure the alignment of future growth with facility use, and stronger negotiating power when it comes to strategic gas diversification and marketing.(adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
