Some Chinese companies such as appliance maker Midea Group (HKG:0300, SHE:000333) and drone manufacturer DJI are discouraging staff from working overtime as employees are seen leaving early at their offices, Yicai Global reported Wednesday.
Some of DJI's employees told the media outlet that the move might be made to attract more hires, while analysts said it may have to do with European Union regulations, which bans products made from forced labor, the report said.
Moreover, Haier Group said it opposes formalistic overtime, a practice where employers expect staff to work overtime, the report said.
