Earnings per share climbed year over year to 11.58 yuan from 10.05 yuan. The figure missed analysts' 11.76 yuan forecast compiled by FactSet.

The battery maker's revenue slumped 9.7% to 362.0 billion yuan from 400.9 billion yuan, also missing the FactSet estimate of 370 billion yuan.

A cash dividend of 45.53 yuan will be distributed to all shareholders for every 10 shares.

CATL's shares were down 1% in recent trade.
