America Movil's Dividend Plan Neutral, Banorte Says -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-19

1345 ET - Telecommunications heavyweight América Móvil plans to pay dividends of 0.52 Mexican pesos a share, while adding MXN10 billion to its share-buyback fund for the April 2025 to April 2026 period. The proposal puts the dividend yield at 3.6% at current prices, plus about 1.1% if the buyback fund is used up, analysts at Banorte say in a note. The implications are neutral for the stock, they say. "The company's outlook remains favorable, back by sustained demand and good growth despite a challenging ecoomic environment in coming quarters." América Móvil shares are down 0.9% on the Mexican stock exchange.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
