0941 GMT - JD Sports Fashion could be harmed in the short term, but its prospects going forward seem promising, Peel Hunt analysts say in a note. Nike said last week that there remains a large amount of stock to clear, which will likely hit the overall sector, they say. JD won't implement heavy discounting. While its gross margin should be robust, it is likely that Nike sales will suffer, the analysts note. The performance of other brands has been decent, but not enough to offset this, they add. However, the group remains the partner of choice for big brands and continues to innovate, they say. "JD will come out of these difficult industry times in a stronger position." Shares fall 1.1%.
