0827 ET - Space-exploration company Intuitive Machines is positioned well as debates over exploratory efforts between the moon and Mars play out, says Benchmark's Josh Sullivan in a research note. Expectations are growing that funding for moon-focused Artemis and lunar programs in general may take a backseat to Mars missions, given Elon Musk's focus on the effort and his influence in the federal government. But Sullivan believes the U.S. will not cede the moon to China even as trips to Mars take on greater importance. Instead, NASA will fund commercialized enterprises to outsource lunar development, which puts Intuitive in a "perfect position to capitalize on this dynamic," says the analyst.
