Apple, Meta to Get Minimal Fines Under New EU Digital Antitrust Rules, FT Says, Citing Sources

--iPhone maker Apple and Facebook owner Meta are set to get minimal fines from the European Commission next week under its digital antitrust rules, the FT reports, citing unnamed sources.

--Alongside the fines the FT says that Apple will be ordered to revise its App Store rules while Meta will be ordered to change its pay or consent model.

--Under the Digital Markets Act, companies the EU designates as "gatekeepers" aren't allowed to treat their own services more favorably in ranking than similar services of third parties.

--The commission declined to comment to the FT.
