Apple (AAPL) said Monday that a new free software update in April will introduce 24-bit, 48-kilohertz lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio to AirPods Max.
Apple said the new update for the headphones will allow Apple Music subscribers to hear over 100 million songs in lossless audio.
The company said music creators can leverage lossless and ultra-low latency audio on AirPods Max to create and mix in personalized spatial audio with head tracking.
Apple also said it expects ultra-low latency audio to improve live streaming and gaming experiences with minimal lag time.
