0001 GMT - The U.S. auto tariffs announced overnight may not be fully priced in by Japan's equity market, Citi Research's Arifumi Yoshida says in a research report. "We feel the impact will be especially large at Mazda [Motor] and Nissan [Motor]," the analyst says. "We think the amount of tariffs paid by Toyoda Gosei could be lower than expected," Yoshida says, noting the U.S.' exception for parts compliant with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. "The focus going forward will be on how the tariffs actually operate and affect each country," he says. Investors could favor stocks like tiremakers, Suzuki Motor, and Isuzu Motors, the analyst adds.
