Nvidia $(NVDA)$: Shares of the artificial-intelligence bellwether fell more than 3% in premarket trading. CoreWeave $(CRWV)$, the Nvidia-backed AI startup that went public last week, also fell before the bell.
Tesla $(TSLA)$, Palantir $(PLTR)$: The auto and tech stocks were heavily traded premarket, both losing ground.
Robinhood (HOOD): Shares fell more than 5% ahead of the open, as bitcoin prices fell. The online brokerage gets a big chunk of its revenue from clients' cryptocurrency trades. Other crypto-focused stocks, including MicroStrategy $(MSTR)$ and Coinbase $(COIN)$, dropped too.
Renesas Electronics (JP:6723), Sumco (JP:3436), Tokyo Electron (JP:8035): The semiconductor companies were among the biggest losers in Japan, where the Nikkei 225 slumped. In Taiwan, Foxconn (TW:2354) and TSMC (TW:2330) dropped.
Many of Europe's biggest stocks lost ground, including luxury companies LVMH (FR:MC) and Hermes (FR:RMS), pharmaceutical companies Roche (CH:ROG) and AstraZeneca (UK:AZN) and global chip company ASML (NL:ASML).
